Iranian students will learn the basics of entrepreneurial and innovative education at Izmir University of Economics. A protocol was signed between Ali Akbar Sharifpour, Chairman of Iran Bushehr Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, and Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen, IUE Rector to ensure 15% discount in annual tuition fees of Izmir University of Economics.
Along with Sharifpour and Prof. Dr. Esen, Hamid Zadbom, Under Secretary of Commerce at Iranian Embassy, Ankara, Seyid Huseyni Muhammedi, Iranian Ministry of Commerce Official, Mehdad Ebrahimi, General Directorate of Fairs Official, Emir Ensari Izmir-Iran Honorary Under Secretary of Commerce and Member of Executive Board of Izmir Free Zone attended the protocol ceremony that took place at IUE Rector’s Office. After the ceremony, Bushehr Trade Delegation took a tour around the University, chatted with Iranian students.
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen stated that the University offered English as medium of instruction in all its programs since the day it was established, and with its scientific and innovative education, Izmir Economics was an international institution. Prof. Dr. Esen indicated that their aim was to train entrepreneurial graduates demanded by the business world for a competitive global world. He said, "We are an international institution with 130 full time students and 70 Erasmus students from 67 countries. We are in close relations with Iran. We have many successful students from Iran. We hope to improve our relations with this protocol.”
Chairman Ali Akbar Sharifpour stated that they were closely acquainted with Izmir University of Economics and it was Iranian students’ choice of educational institution. “I am very glad to be signing this protocol that will enlighten the future of Iranian students in higher education in addition to the progressing trading volume between the two countries”, stated Sharifpour.
