    Internship Durations and Requirements

    Faculty of Arts and Sciences English Translation and Interpreting 20 business days Uninterrupted at the end of 2nd and/or 3rd grade. Students of the Department of English Translation and Interpreting may complete their internship at various private sector organizations (translation agencies, press and media institutions, publishing houses, etc.), public institutions (ministries, tourism offices affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, TRT, etc.), and international associations or non-governmental organizations. The internship can be carried out at institutions either in Türkiye or abroad.
    Faculty of Arts and Sciences Psychology 20 business days At the end of 3rd grade:
    Development (Nursery and Kindergartens), Experimental, Neuropsychology/Biophysics Laboratories, 
    Industry, Special Education (All Disabled), Forensic, Guidance and Counseling, Sports, Arts, Traffic, Politics, Media-Communication, Environment, Minorities, Intercultural, Orphanages, Nursing Homes or Clinical Internship
    Faculty of Arts and Sciences Sociology 20 business days Uninterrupted at the end of 2nd and/or 3rd grade
    Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Industrial Design 40 business days (20+20) At the end of 2nd and 3rd grade in 2 different companies
    Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Visual Communication Design 40 business days (20+20)  
     
    2nd-, 3rd-, and 4th-year students can complete their internships in fundamental design fields such as graphic design, motion graphics/animation, photography and video production, and UI/UX design. These internships may be carried out during semester breaks or at the end of the term in institutions within the design industry, such as advertising and media agencies, post-production companies, or publishing offices.

    Starting from the end of the second year, students are required to complete a total minimum of 40 working days of internship. If more than one internship is undertaken, each internship must last for a minimum of 20 consecutive working days.
    Faculty of Communication New Media and Communication  40 business days (20+20)  
    Starting from the end of the second year, students are required to complete a total minimum of 40 working days of internship. If more than one internship is undertaken, each internship must last for a minimum of 20 consecutive working days.
    Faculty of Communication Cinema and Digital Media 40 business days (20+20)

    20 business days for students enrolled in 2013 and after At the end of 3rd grade, manufacturing or service internship
      (At least 1 engineer providing services related to one of the Electrical/Electronics/Communication field must be employed in the internship site)
      For students who enrolled in 2013 or later, a manufacturing or service internship must be completed at the end of the 3rd year. (The organization where the internship is carried out must employ at least one engineer working in one of the fields of Electrical, Electronics, or Communication.)
       
    Faculty of Engineering Industrial Engineering

    A continuous period of 20 working days (public holidays and national holidays should not be included in this period).

     

    Mandatory internships are conducted during the summer of the 3rd year (after the Spring Semester) and the mid-term of the 4th year (after the Fall Semester).

    It is not considered appropriate to complete mandatory internships during the semester.

    If voluntary internships are to be carried out during the semester, there must be at least 2 working days free in the course schedule (including online courses).

    If mandatory or voluntary internships start during the summer term, they must be completed before the start of the fall semester.

    For both voluntary and mandatory internships, there must be a department related to Industrial Engineering at the internship site.

    Internships of students enrolled in the Double Major Program (DMP) are evaluated separately by the internship commission of each department.

    To be eligible for internship at the end of the 2nd year, the course ME 204 must be taken. If the internship is not completed at the end of the 2nd year, it cannot be done at the end of the 3rd year.

    Faculty of Engineering Mechatronics Engineering  20 business days The compulsory internship can be done at the earliest at the end of the 3rd year and must be continuous.
    4th-year students may complete their internship either for at least two full days per week (non-continuous) or continuously during the midterm break.
     
     
    The internship place must provide at least one of the Mechatronics Engineer, Control-Automation Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Electronics Engineer personnel employment criteria.
    Companies that do not involve Mechanical, Design or Hardware, and only Software Development will not be accepted. During the internship, it is required to work on mechanical design and/or electronic design.
    Software projects on PLC, microprocessor or computer controlled systems that require interaction with a mechatronic system are acceptable. The internship report is prepared according to the Department of Mechatronics Engineering internship guide.
    Faculty of Engineering Software Engineering 40 business days (20+20) for students enrolled in 2012 and before
    • Students enrolled in 2012 or earlier may complete two separate internships at different institutions, each conducted continuously at the end of the 2nd and 3rd years.

    • Students enrolled in 2013 or later may complete a single continuous internship at one institution at the end of the 3rd year.

    • The internship must be carried out in one of the departments such as Information Technologies, Software Development, or Computer Applications within the organization.

    • The organization must be actively engaged in software development.

    • The workplace must have at least 5 employees. (Firms with only 1–2 employees are not accepted as valid internship places.)

    • At least one of the employees must be a Software or Computer Engineer.

    • If you are unsure about the suitability of an organization, you should consult your department’s Internship Committee before making any arrangements.

    20 + 20, a total of 40 business days. It must be completed at institutions that are either in collaboration with the university or approved by the internship committee at the end of the 2nd and 3rd years.

    Nutrition and Dietetics

    20 business days. It must be completed at institutions that are either in collaboration with the university or approved by the internship committee at the end of the 3rd year.
    Vocational School of Health Services Child Development 40 business days (20+20) It can be done in pre-school education institutions or special education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, Directorate of Family and Social Services or Universities, 2 times or continuously, starting with at least 20 business days at the end of the 1st grade, at the end of the 2nd grade and/or during the semester break.
    Vocational School of Health Services Physiotherapy 40 business days (20+20) It can be done in Physical Therapy Centers, 2 times or continuously, starting with at least 20 business days at the end of the 1st grade, at the end of the 2nd grade and/or during the semester break.
    Vocational School of Health Services Paramedic 30 business days (20+10) At the end of the first year, a 20-day internship can be completed in 112 Emergency Services or public hospitals. At the end of the second year and/or during the semester break, it can be carried out twice, starting with a minimum of 10 working days each time, or as a continuous internship.
    Vocational School of Health Services Opticianry 40 business days (20+20) It can be done in Optical Centers, 2 times or continuously, starting with at least 20 business days at the end of the 1st grade, at the end of the 2nd grade and/or during the semester break.
    Vocational School of Health Services Medical Documentation and Secretariat  *30 business days (20+10) for students subject to the Old Curriculum It can be done in outpatient clinics, clinics, administrative units and archives of hospitals, 2 times or continuously, starting with at least 20 business days at the end of the 1st grade, at the end of the 2nd grade and/or during the semester break.
    *40 business days (20+20) for students subject to the New Curriculum
    Vocational School of Health Services Medical Imaging Techniques 40 business days (20+20) It can be done in In radio diagnostic units or imaging centers of hospitals, 2 times or continuously, starting with at least 20 business days at the end of the 1st grade, at the end of the 2nd grade and/or during the semester break.
    Vocational School of Health Services Medical Laboratory Techniques 40 business days (20+20) At the end of the first year, at the end of the second year, and/or during the semester break, the internship can be completed in hospital laboratories or private analysis laboratories, either twice or as a continuous internship. It must include at least 20 working days in total, starting with a minimum of 20 working days—20 days in the biochemistry laboratory and 20 days in the microbiology laboratory.
    Vocational School of Health Services Elderly Care *30 business days (20+10) for students subject to the Old Curriculum It can be done in nursing homes, 2 times or continuously, starting with at least 20 business days at the end of the 1st grade, at the end of the 2nd grade and/or during the semester break.
    *40 business days (20+20) for students subject to the New Curriculum
    School of Applied Management Sciences Gastronomy and Culinary Arts (Culinary Arts and Management) 100 business days (40+60)
